I have been an employee at PS/IS 89 since 2007. I became a school counselor because I remember when I was a young girl how supportive my teachers were to me. I would like to offer the same support and C.A.R.E. to my students, in hopes that they will fulfill their dreams. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, but my entire family (including my husband) is from Dominican Republic. I grew on the small island of St. Maarten with my grandmother until I was 9. I returned to New York then to continue my education. My favorite subject in school was social studies and my least favorite was math. I enjoy organizing fun activities that provide a learning experience for all. I believe that our social and emotional awareness is just as important as our academic development. I've been a student at P.S/I.S 89 for 9 years. I was born in Dominican Republic. I like being a C.A.R.E Bear because we bring joy to others and I love watching other people smile. Also, I enjoy it because I feel like we're a family and can trust each other. My favorite subject is E.L.A, because I feel like I'm a strong writer. But my least favorite is Science because although it's interesting there are times where I just want that period to be over. I find the vocabulary words, in Science class, very difficult to understand. Something that I enjoy doing is shopping. I love to spend a day at the mall or hang out with my friends.
